Daalarna

Hey guys! Have you heard of Daalarna? :D If you had, then you are from Hungary possibly. 

She is a Hungarian designer and last month she had her show. I was honored when I got the invitation from Beango. We were standing in the front row to admire the nice colors and garments. Daalarna presented bride and bridesmaid dresses and underwear.

The inspiration for this collection was the 60s. She wanted to show the usual bikini and corsage from that age. Her point of view was interesting based on the color combination. She used silver, blue and brown for example. Studying the form of the dresses, she showed simplicity and sexuality.

The collection showed the beauty and form of the women body mostly by using transparent material and lace for rendering femininity and sexuality. The basic materials were silk and lace.

The color palette was mostly cold when it came about the bride, but the bridesmaid dresses were full of hot and playing colors which showed the balance and the character between the bride and bridesmaid.

I felt the game between sexuality, personality and love, just like in the real life. The dresses were poorly executed instead, but I was wowed by the message and garment so I didn't concentrate on the quality.

After the show I met Hungarian bloggers and we talked about fashion blogging mostly...but about this I will write in my next post... so stay tuned!

Black velvet

Hi readers! It’s Monday! The SM crew has restarted the Weekly Look project! Are you exited?

For this weekly, look I wanted to design a glam dress with big decoupage and a little bit of vulgarity…

Normal people like to watch TV, going out on weekends, work 10 hours a day but all around them is full of jealousy, money, and stories. Ordinary people are forced down by the system of government and the society, that’s why they became so vulgar and sometimes uncontrolled. They don’t feel safe or motivated. I wanted to express this in one garment by using black color for the dark days and showing the woman forms to close the darkness. Love is the answer mostly when we want to change or belong somewhere… After every hard day, all we want is go home and forget about it by making love or holding on to someone…

The dress shows the most beautiful part of the body as the tailoring gives streamlining by the game between the velvet and the tulle.

The make-up emphasizes the vulgarity and sexiness by using bright and powerful fuchsia, both on eyes and lips, matching perfectly the model’s complexion and hair.

Recycled Leather

Hi everyone! It's finally Friday and I'm so happy about it :D!...What are you doing on this weekend? In my town is student days...so I think I gonna have a big PARTY Weekend :D...

Another thing about Fridays :D It's DIY time :D!! Birtalan Dalma aka D-Art Jewel's made you this nice recycled leather necklace so you can do it for your self or order one from her.

1. Using a round object around 7cm in width draw a circle on the back side of the leather

2. Cut out and fold in half

3. Punch six holes equal distance apart along the straight side

4. Attach the rivets

5. Starting from the back thread the chain in and out of the holes until both ends are equal

6. Attach a clasp using 2 jump rings

Get yo` bike take a ride

Hi guys!

As a restart of the blog I want to write about the new SS13 Sport collection. The inspirations for these garments were my sad and blurry days, which I’m having at the factory where I work as a sewer. I’m having “hard time” cuz the people are difficult to work with. Mostly my days before lunch are about sadness, stress and yelling. When I got the opportunity to do an eco-day sport collection, I felt my frustration going out on my veins. I love to wear skirts all the time, to dress differently and I had some problems at my work because of that. This collection is like a mirror, reflects my frustration in the dresses. 

The basic color is grey witch shows the sadness and the non-intentions of my personality. I added yellow and purple to reflect my character in the factory. I do fell more open minded than my colleagues. The forms are very edgy and geometrical because I'm protecting myself from the closed mind thinking. I didn't use any material for the aerate part to show the woman's body and to give a little sexuality (my boss is a good looking guy with a temper and when he walks in each day the time stops, maybe because a lot of women have sexual intentions or because of his charm). The whole collection is based on characters transformed in forms. 

When I chose the materials for this collection I thought about functionality. I wanted something sporty but sexy yet elegant and at the same time to express all those moments of frustration. That’s how I got the leather-satin combination. The important part is these garments can be used in the office with high heels and over accessorized, or you can simply take all off, get your bike and take a ride… that’s how this collection got the name. ;)  

 

The makeup accompanying the sports collection is a simple day look, with contoured eyes and accentuated lips with bright and vivid colors in order to emphasize more the sexuality in each woman.

The look is a perfect match for a day out or even more, a sports event.

The hair was made by Markos Ildiko, she is a new member in the group. Ildi's opinion about the hair: 

For the SS13 Sport collection I have chosen hairstyles which are feminine, casual and a little bit elegant at the same time. This collection forms are edgy and geometrical, so I made a contrast with asymmetrical and natural hairstyles which express the clothes and their sporty-elegant styles. The hairstyles don't cover their back, which gives them a non-provocative sensuality.
